The BBS Mission
The Black Beauty STEMinist is a platform for celebrating Black women in the cosmetics and personal care industry by creating a space to connect, learn, and thrive. We provide opportunities to engage with like-minded individuals, gain insights from industry experts, and grow within a supportive, empowering community.
The BBS Founder
The Black Beauty STEMinist® Project was founded by Leyte Winfield, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Director of the Cosmetic Science Program at Spelman College. A passionate educator, researcher, and advocate for equity in STEM, Dr. Winfield created the project to inspire the next generation of beauty scientists by honoring the stories, expertise, and impact of Black women in the field.
