Dr Wangari Olivero earned her PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Rutgers University, Piscataway NJ. Her Research was focused on developing therapeutics for melanoma leading to new combinatorial therapy drug regimens. She completed postdoctoral fellowships at Fox Chase Cancer Center in the Developmental Therapeutics Program and at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc.

She joined L'Oréal Research & Innovation, North America in 2015 where she currently serves as AVP and DEI Lead. She has played a crucial role in transforming multiple innovations into high-performing products for brands like CeraVe, Skinceuticals and La Roche Posay.

Dr. Wangari Olivero has published over 20 scientific articles and book chapters in dermatology and oncology. She also serves as a reviewer for various journals, including JAMA Dermatology. Additionally, She holds 6 innovation patents for skincare and beauty devices.

Dr Wangari Olivero is a passionate advocate for democratization of STEMM and has worked both internally and with other organizations to reduce disparities, barriers and create more opportunities for untapped communities.
